What use software tools to RS232 to connect to the PC?
RS232 is a popular communication protocol for connecting modems computers and peripheral data acquisition. RS232 devices can be connected directly to computer's serial port (also known as COM or port). Examples of devices include the acquisition of GPS data receivers, electronic scales, the data loggers, interface temperature and other measuring instruments.
HyperTerminal or ProComm can be used, or you can write your own to any language. It really depends on what instrument you are connecting. Some may require specialized software to interpret that sends and receives. In this case, you need the software from the manufacturer, or write your own.
